Hume Public Art Laboratory
CAST and the Art in Public Space program present the Sunbury HGLC Public Art Laboratory with the City of Hume, engaging local artists living and working in Sunbury in a site and subject specific approach to art practice in the public realm.
Three laboratories were designed to engage participating artists in research, conceptual development, methods and delivery of public art practice. Scheduled across four months in early 2019, the laboratories saw works developed in response to the George Evans Collection and curated as the inaugural exhibition for the new Hume Global Learning Centre in Sunbury.
The laboratories were run by Fiona Hillary and Heather Hesterman, both practicing artists and RMIT School of Art lecturers.
